Studio Pacific Architecture has delivered a building that completes the Taranaki Wharf Precinct and successfully links the city to the sea.
The building has a sculptural quality and appears as if sitting on a plinth marrying it to its site and to its heritage neighbor, the John Chambers Building (now Xero House). Stitched into its surrounding historic urban precinct, it maintains a unique and contemporary presence.
The facades are crafted to reflect a materiality and personality. From some aspects, the high studs and glazing appear as openings with a depth that makes them appear to be carved out of the solid form; in others the openings are set within a strong but fine frame, where they can reflect the brilliance of the harbor.
